Configuring the Ecosystem Manager Portlet on the Viewpoint Server

You can use the Ecosystem Manager portlet to connect to a Teradata Database system in the public cloud or an on-premises Teradata Database system.
  1. From the Azure portal, note the following of the Ecosystem Manager VM and the Viewpoint VM:
    • The private IP address.
    • If applicable, either the public IP or public DNS.
  2. From the SSH client console, log in to the Viewpoint VM using the same authentication type you chose when you deployed the VM using the Teradata ecosystem solution template or the single VM from an image.
    Authentication type Action
SSH public key Enter the following:
    # ssh -i ssh-private-key.pem azureuser@VM-public-IP-address or VM-public-DNS-address
    where:
    • The ssh-private-key is the private key file (.pem) specified when you deployed the VM.
    • The azureuser is the user name specified when you deployed the VM.
    • The VM-public-IP-address or VM-public-DNS-address is the DNS host name or public IP address of the Viewpoint VM.
    Password Enter the following:
    # ssh azureuser@VM-public-IP-address or VM-public-DNS-address
    Password: password
    where:
    • The azureuser is the user name specified when you deployed the VM.
    • The VM-public-IP-address or VM-public-DNS-address is the DNS host name or public IP address of the Viewpoint VM.
    • The password is the password specified when you deployed the VM.
  3. Switch to the root user environment.
    # sudo su -
  4. Change the directory and configure the Ecosystem Manager portlet.
    # cd /opt/teradata/viewpoint/portlets/em-portlets
    ./uiConfig.sh active-em-server standby-em-server em-password
    where:
    • active-em-server is the DNS host name of the active Ecosystem Manager server.
    • standby-em-server is the DNS host name of the standby Ecosystem Manager server. If you have not set up a standby Ecosystem Manager server, use the DNS host name of the active Ecosystem Manager server.
    • em-password in the Ecosystem Manager user password (the default password is em).
See the Teradata Ecosystem Manager User Guide.
