Teradata Server Management Configuration
To ensure Teradata processes are prepared for the Server Management connection after deploying a Server Management VM, you must open a TaYS incident with a synopsis of Validation Request for Teradata Server Management on Azure Teradata Configuration. After Teradata Customer Support obtains permission to access your Azure configuration and confirms the connectivity is functioning, they will close the incident. This process may take up to five days to complete.
To configure Server Management, you must also have the Server Management Administrative and Server Management REST passwords. You must have a Site ID before configuring ServiceConnect and alerts. For more information, see Site IDs.
The time zone for the Teradata Server Management VM is UTC and cannot be changed.
You must configure the CMIC, either interactively or in batch mode. When configuring the CMIC for Teradata Database nodes in a MPP system, you must use the private IP address of each database node. For a single-node system, use the private IP address.
To receive alerts, you must also configure Server Management alerting. You can set alerts for node failures, issues with Teradata software, and many other alert types. Use the Server Management portlet in Teradata Viewpoint to configure ServiceConnect and alerts.
