Configuring the VM State for Node Failure Recovery

By default, a VM stops after a node failure. Instead, you can configure the VM before a node fails so that it will be terminate if a node fails.
  1. On the Teradata Database VM, open the following configuration file in a text editor.
    /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/nodestart.yaml
  2. Change instance_state to terminate.
For example, change this setting as follows to automatically terminate (delete) the VM when a node fails:
    instance_state: terminate
  3. Run the following command to apply the configuration to all the nodes.
    # tdc-nodestart-config --send
If a node fails, it is terminated (deleted) instead of being stopped.
